Check RAC database, instance and service status with srvctl
OracleRAC & GridCommand
# Which node each instance runs on, and in what state:
srvctl status database -db <db_unique_name> -verbose
# Configuration registered in Clusterware (Oracle home, spfile, disk group, policy, role):
srvctl config database -db <db_unique_name>
# A single instance:
srvctl status instance -db <db_unique_name> -instance <instance>
# Which instances the services are running on:
srvctl status service -db <db_unique_name>What it does
Shows the runtime state of the database, each instance and its services as seen by Clusterware (CRS), plus the registered configuration; -verbose adds the instance open mode.
When to use it
As the first check before and after any RAC intervention; during an outage, to see which node/instance is affected.
Caution
Read-only. Run it from the database Oracle home (oracle user); a srvctl from a Grid home of a different version can return misleading results or errors.
