NOAUTH: NOAUTH Authentication required

Redis

What does it mean?

Redis requires authentication, but the client tried to run a command before authenticating. It must log in with AUTH first.

Why does it happen?

A requirepass/ACL password is set on the server, the client does not send the AUTH command, the password is missing from the connection string, or AUTH is not repeated after the connection is re-established.

How to fix it

Authenticate before running commands: AUTH password (with ACLs, AUTH app_user password). Add the password to the client/connection string. If you use a connection pool, make sure AUTH is performed on every new connection. Store the password securely (environment variable/secrets manager).
