ERR DUMP payload version or checksum are wrong: ERR DUMP payload version or checksum are wrong
RedisWhat does it mean?
The serialized data (DUMP output) passed to RESTORE is invalid; the version is incompatible or checksum verification failed. Redis cannot restore the data safely.
Why does it happen?
The DUMP data being corrupted/modified, moving between different, incompatible Redis versions, corruption during encoding/decoding (e.g. wrong byte handling), or a missing/truncated payload.
How to fix it
Make sure the DUMP data is transported intact (binary-safe); transfer it as raw bytes rather than through a text encoding. Verify that the source and target Redis versions are compatible. Take a fresh DUMP and transfer it again. For migration, consider the MIGRATE command instead of RESTORE.
