View binary log status

Command

SHOW BINARY LOGS;

What it does

Lists all binary log files on the server and their sizes.

When to use it

To see binlog disk usage and which files exist.

Caution

For the binlog file currently being written and its position: SHOW BINARY LOG STATUS; (MySQL 8.2+). Older versions use SHOW MASTER STATUS (deprecated in 8.2–8.3, removed in 8.4).
