Change the InnoDB redo log size

MySQLStorage

Command

SET GLOBAL innodb_redo_log_capacity = 2147483648;

What it does

Dynamically sets the total InnoDB redo log capacity (in bytes, here 2 GB) at run time.

When to use it

To reduce checkpoint frequency and improve performance under write-heavy workloads.

Caution

innodb_redo_log_capacity arrived in MySQL 8.0.30 and replaces the old innodb_log_file_size + innodb_log_files_in_group settings. On older versions/MariaDB, innodb_log_file_size is changed in my.cnf and requires a restart. To make it permanent: SET PERSIST innodb_redo_log_capacity = 2147483648;
