58030: io_error
PostgreSQLWhat does it mean?
PostgreSQL hit an operating-system-level input/output (I/O) error while reading or writing a file. This indicates a physical or file-system problem accessing database files. Belongs to Class 58 (system_error).
Why does it happen?
Disk failure or bad sectors; a full disk; file system errors; an outage on network-attached storage (NFS/SAN); permission problems; or exhausted OS file descriptor/inode limits.
How to fix it
Check disk health and free space (df -h, dmesg, SMART data). Check the PostgreSQL logs for which file is affected. Fix file system errors; replace hardware if necessary. If data corruption is suspected, plan a restore from the last good backup, and keep checksums enabled going forward (initdb --data-checksums).
