ORA-00942: Table or view does not exist
OracleWhat does it mean?
The table or view referenced in the query does not exist or is not visible to the accessing user.
Why does it happen?
The object really does not exist, it is in a different schema and no schema prefix was given, the user lacks privileges on the object (such as SELECT), a synonym is missing, or the object name is misspelled.
How to fix it
Check that the object exists and who owns it: SELECT owner, object_type FROM all_objects WHERE object_name = 'TABLE_NAME'. If it is in another schema, fully qualify it as schema.table or grant GRANT SELECT ON app_schema.my_table TO app_user. If needed, create a public/private synonym: CREATE SYNONYM my_table FOR app_schema.my_table. Watch for case and quoted identifiers.
