strict_dynamic_mapping_exception: strict_dynamic_mapping_exception: mapping set to strict, dynamic introduction of [...] within [...] is not allowed
ElasticsearchWhat does it mean?
Because the index or object mapping is set to "dynamic": "strict", a document containing a new field not defined in the mapping was rejected. Strict mode prevents fields outside the schema from being added silently.
Why does it happen?
A field not present in the mapping was sent in the document (typo, new field, unexpected field) while the mapping is dynamic:strict. It is usually a deliberate safeguard to keep schema control tight.
How to fix it
Fix or remove the extra/misspelled field in the document. If the field is really needed, add it to the mapping first: PUT /index-name/_mapping {"properties": {"new_field": {"type": "..."}}}. If you want new fields to be added automatically, set dynamic to "true", or to "false" if they should be stored but not indexed. Use strict mode deliberately to preserve schema discipline.
